After breakfast, meet your safari driver guide and begin your adventure. Your first stop will be in Arusha town for any last-minute shopping. Following this, you'll drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley, this beautiful park boasts rich overlapping habitats, swamps, and a lake, supporting a vast array of animal and bird species. Lake Manyara is renowned for its large population of baboons, tree-climbing lions, and massive flocks of flamingos. You may also spot giraffes, zebras, elephants, wildebeests, hippos, buffalo, and predators such as leopards, hyenas, jackals, alongside countless bird species.
In the afternoon, depart for Lake Eyasi for a cultural encounter. The journey, which takes about 1.5 hours, traverses the Great East African Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you'll visit the Datoga tribe, who will show you around their homes and engage with you in conversation. Following this, you'll visit a blacksmith, and later, enjoy a sunset walk along the lake shore before heading to your campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
All meals included: Breakfast, Lunch,
Dinner Overnight: Bushman Campsite close to the lake.
Day 3: Lake Eyasi - Central Serengeti
On this day, we take you for an early morning hunt with the Hadzabe bushmen. Equipped with bows and arrows, you'll learn survival skills as you join them in their traditional hunting practices. The bushmen at Lake Eyasi consist of three clans: Hadzabe, Tindiga, and Datoga. They live off the land, gathering eggs, wild fruits, and root tubers, much like our Stone Age ancestors. After the hunt, you'll return to your campsite for a full breakfast before embarking on your journey to the vast Serengeti plains via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Your 5 days Tanzania camping safari continues with a drive to Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic highlands of Karatu to the Ngorongoro gate. After check-in, you'll drive up and around the Crater rim, stopping briefly at the viewpoint for photos. Along the way, you'll visit a Maasai village for a cultural encounter. The Maasai warriors will invite you into their homes, where you can meet their families, ask questions, and take photos. They will also perform their traditional songs and dances, which you can join if you wish.
Afterward, you'll descend into the heart of the wild Africa, the Serengeti National Park, with its endless rolling plains. You'll break for a picnic lunch at Naabi Hills Gate or the Kopjes (rocky outcroppings) as you head to the Central Serengeti area, known as Seronera. This region, rich in wildlife, is sustained by the Seronera River, which attracts a vast number of animals. You'll enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of the big cats and the Great Serengeti Wildebeest Migration, depending on your travel dates. Before or during sunset, you'll head to your campsite for dinner and overnight stay.
All meals included: – breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Overnight: Seronera Public Campsite in Central Serengeti.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
On this day of your 5 days Tanzania camping safari in the vast Serengeti plains, we'll take you for an early morning game drive with a packed breakfast and lunch box. This early morning drive offers a chance to spot some cat families on the road, avoiding the morning mist. You may also see nocturnal predators returning from their long night of hunting or a group of lionesses organizing a morning ambush or eating along the road. Later, you'll break for breakfast somewhere in the bush. If the Great Wildebeest Migration is in the Serengeti, you’ll head straight to their location and spend time observing their activities, such as fighting, hunting, eating, or even killing.
During the day, you can expect to spot predators like lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, jackals, and more. Herds of buffalo, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, and many antelopes can also be seen wandering the Serengeti plains. In the late afternoon, during or before sunset, you'll drive back to the campsite for dinner and overnight.
All meals are included: – Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
You will stay overnight: at the Seronera Public Campsite in Central Serengeti.
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
On your final day in Serengeti, you have the option to embark on another early morning game drive and enjoy more time exploring the Serengeti’s wildlife. Afterward, you will have a delicious hot lunch before beginning your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Arrive at Ngorongoro in time to witness a stunning sunset from the crater rim, followed by a delightful dinner and overnight stay.
All meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Overnight: at Ngorongoro Simba Public Campsite at the Crater Rim.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Then Arusha
On the final day of your 5 Days Tanzania Camping Safari, you'll start with an early breakfast before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater for a spectacular game drive. A picnic lunch will be served on the Crater floor, allowing you to enjoy your meal amidst the incredible scenery.
With its 600-meter-high walls, the Crater offers a unique environment where few animals migrate in and out. You can expect to see herds of African elephants, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, hippos, and the rare black rhino in their natural habitat.
Another highlight of this caldera is the dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, which may require binoculars to spot.
You will also visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow salt lake located in the southwest corner of the Crater floor. This lake is frequently visited by flocks of flamingos and other aquatic birds, and you may also spot some hippos and other animals around the lake.
In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Arusha for drop-off at Kilimanjaro International Airport or for an overnight stay in Arusha. (Accommodation on this day can be included upon request at an extra cost).
